OdysseyStage Open Call for Original Play Submissions
OdysseyStage is based in the Triangle area, discovering and nurturing new works by North Carolina playwrights.

OdysseyStage Playwriting Submission for 2024: October 1 – November 15, 2023
Guidelines and Instructions:
- Submissions are open to all writers legally residing in North Carolina.
- We highly value contributions from multicultural writers.
- Your submission must adhere to the standard play format.
- Play length should range between 50 to 120 pages.
- Limit characters to eight actors unless incorporating double or triple casting.
- Prioritize diversity in casting.
- Submissions must represent an original piece from a single author.
- The play should neither be in current production nor have been produced by another company.
- We do not accept screenplays.
- Submit only finished pieces—refrain from sending early drafts.
- Playwrights should be prepared to engage in the process and attend readings.
- We are accepting submissions from October 1 to November 15, 2023.
